Trying all New Zealand Craft Beer: A Beer Club

I decided that it would be a good plan to try as many beers made in NZ as possible (ignoring the stock standard fare until later). And so the challenge begins. Myself and 6 "colleagues" who have the same interests will gather once a month at a beer club and sample New Zealand Craft Beer! The initial brief is...Lets start with ale...s! I'm starting with the southern most brewery, Invercargill Brewery and their Pale Ale "Stanley Green" The rest will be revealed after the "tasting"

May 2010

[12 July 2010]

Its been a while.... May at Simon's. Started with the Emerson's brewer's reserve, Cellar Dog Keller Bier...well...its not my favourite, has flavour but a bit watery. One of the few Emerson's we didn't like. Next up, 8 wired brewery - rewired brown ale. "Really good"...but...I wasn't a fan...everyone else liked it. Next... the "Jesus its fizzy" Croucher pilsner. It was "luscious" in a fat slags kinda way. Up next was the Wigram Dunkel. Simon announces "thats nice" having not yet actually tasted it! He's been faking it! To finish off Emerson's porter Simon says: "shits allover Wigram" having actually tasted it! Its like an old sweater!
