Trying all New Zealand Craft Beer: A Beer Club

I decided that it would be a good plan to try as many beers made in NZ as possible (ignoring the stock standard fare until later). And so the challenge begins. Myself and 6 "colleagues" who have the same interests will gather once a month at a beer club and sample New Zealand Craft Beer! The initial brief is...Lets start with ale...s! I'm starting with the southern most brewery, Invercargill Brewery and their Pale Ale "Stanley Green" The rest will be revealed after the "tasting"

Getting Hazy - August 2010

[29 September 2010]

Ok so I can't remember the time before last...got June sorted... what happened in July? I know we postponed one but can't remember ...was it at mine? Aaanyway Juno's man cave! With the warriors! Up first was the Emerson's Billy T wit. A belgian wit style beer base with piko piko, kawakawa and kumara. Pretty dam good! C...losely followed by the last of the mohicans the third in the red IPA set. Following on closely was the JP for 2010 another IPA in the belgian tripel style. Big flavour, big beer. The order is fading... but the 3 boys porter.... chocolatey....pretty good (from memory) uh oh ...feckin hiccups. And the talking point for the night ws the beltane maiden, " a drink for lesbians...with lemon! possibly the worst we have had. Juno turned lesbian...It might taste better tomorrow! But its not really beer...would prefer todrink the flood water and risk the cholera! "something wrong with this beer!" Until next time
