Trying all New Zealand Craft Beer: A Beer Club

I decided that it would be a good plan to try as many beers made in NZ as possible (ignoring the stock standard fare until later). And so the challenge begins. Myself and 6 "colleagues" who have the same interests will gather once a month at a beer club and sample New Zealand Craft Beer! The initial brief is...Lets start with ale...s! I'm starting with the southern most brewery, Invercargill Brewery and their Pale Ale "Stanley Green" The rest will be revealed after the "tasting"

June Favourites

[24 July 2010]

I'm a bit crap at keeping up but this is last months (just before this months). Tonight we are at Warren's stable. Before we drink we have to earn it by moving the "dog house"! The idea was to bring our favourite.... even if we hadn't tried it..all beer, all good. Up first, Twisted Hop IPA. Have tased it on tap in hous...e and nice to see we can now get it here. Not too shbby in the bottle. Epic Pale Ale, (my fav) always good and hoppy. All of a sudden we're getting innovative! Using sheep to stop the oil leak. Another great NZ export Its unfortunate that BP (thats British Pelican!) can't fix the problem. Mike's IPA, an expensive drop in a flash bootle, everyone but me lauds the taste as great! It has a passionfruit syrup hint...possibly a little sweet.

...Harrington's Classy red, "an american pale ale"...nothing bad. Epic Mayhem.....Delicious!...Founder's Fair Maiden Ale....A perfectly reasonable beer but renamed "slapper Ale"..she is after all nailed to a ship. And the ming commander throws himself on the grenade! But wait we forgot..Meenan's Lager (than...ks steve)....very average!!!!!
