Trying all New Zealand Craft Beer: A Beer Club

I decided that it would be a good plan to try as many beers made in NZ as possible (ignoring the stock standard fare until later). And so the challenge begins. Myself and 6 "colleagues" who have the same interests will gather once a month at a beer club and sample New Zealand Craft Beer! The initial brief is...Lets start with ale...s! I'm starting with the southern most brewery, Invercargill Brewery and their Pale Ale "Stanley Green" The rest will be revealed after the "tasting"

Beer Coat

And now December's meeting in January! Just adding to the Xmas beer coat. Another new bloke and someone fotgot to explain what to bring. First up is the hosts' Mata Brown Boy Amber Ale.... Its not the remarkables...based on the fact that two sets of Cardrona Gold have shown up. And THAT is VERY pleaseant (note to blog: ...had one in Wanaka on draught...could become a regular!). What should rear its ugly head again is the Beltane maiden. "Its different" but the best call...dissolved a pickled onion in a steinlager! The Invercargill WASP ... "We've had that!" No we haven't ... yes we have...its not on the list.... its actually quite good. SOme good things do come out of Southland. Then there was a homebrew which tasted like...homebrew. Then the MOa corked flashy things. the wheat beer and the Noir. Respectable but not sure what the fuss is about. To finish off the CRoucher Pilsner. My notes are getting bad! Will aim to have more in the January January meeting! BEER
